The true picture for the company Famagusta Developers formally known as K & M (Famagusta) Developers and Constructions Ltd is expected to be revealed soon.
On Wednesday, the company's creditors unanimously elected as liquidator to act on their behalf Mr Chris Iacovides of CRI Group. On the other hand Ms Chrystalla Kyprianou, shareholder of the company , filed a unilateral application to the Court seeking suspension of the Order to Settlement of litigation before the Civil Appeal registered on 19/1/2012 and the cancellation of the Settlement Order dated 9/12/2011 will take place.
Mr Kypros Kyprianou of Famagusta Developers , indeed said the company has assets of 38m euros. 25m are the estimated assets of the company and 13m euro amounts to various debtors to the company. He disputes that after paying off all debts, they will have a surplus of 36.9m euros in the company’s balance sheet.
So far, there were 57 creditors of the company claiming an amount of approximately 3.1m euros.
Kyprianou, following the liquation order by the court, said in his testimony that after the crisis that started in 2008 the sales of the company and consequently its turnover were reduced and that "Some buyers of the company demanded deliver of their properties but the company was not able to keep up with the deliveries and therefore they have asked the Court for compensation,"
Some significant amounts that the company owes are to the Social Insurance Fund (195m) and to the Inland Revenue Department (179.3m.). Also some smaller amounts to various individuals and companies.
