Final Approval for Building Registration

After completing the construction you have to receive the final inspection in order to update your land title deed. This is necessary in case you want to have all the rights as a legal owner, such as selling the building, transferring it into somebody's name or for any other legal use. The procedure is quite long but is free of any charge as the cost is included in Building Permit.

Below you will find simple steps to the required procedure:

1. Submit an application for final approval and final inspection

The procedure will take around 75 days and it is necessary for the registration of the new building (The cost is included in the Building Permit).

2. Final Inspection of the Municipality

The representative from the local Municipality will verify that the construction is in absolute conformity with the original architectural plan and security regulations. Inspectors will also control if the building is in compliance with security regulations.  This document is obligatory for the registration of the new building and an update of the land title.

3. Land Title Update

This procedure is necessary in order to sell property and use property as a guarantee for any type of transaction.  This procedure may take between 6 to 8 months and sometimes up to 2 years.

You have to attach to the application the following documents:

a. Land Title;

b. Building Permit with all plans and terms attached;

c. Certificate of approval of building;

d. Permit for the well and plan attached;

e. Demolition Permit;

Application should be submitted to the Department of lands and surveys.
